Pawel Katz obtained his first musical education from his father. From 1985 - 1990 he attended the central special music school of the Moscow Tchaikovsky conservatory and from 1990 - 1998 the C. Ph. E. Bach special music school in Berlin. Subsequently he studied until 2002 at the Hanns Eisler music academy, Berlin.
He first performed in public at the age of six and since then he was a soloist in many east and west european concerts, including the Berlin Philharmony. In addition he recorded in various radio and TV stations, for example at the Deutsche Welle, TV international and Deutschland Radio Berlin.
Pawel Katz is winner in several international music competitions ( 1993 - Third Prize at the First International Chamber Music Competition in Ukraine, 1996 - First Prize at the competition "Jugend musiziert" in Germany, 2002 - Second Prize at the Twelfth International Chamber Music Competition in Greece, 2006 - Special Price at the 4th International Max Reger Chamber Music Competition in Germany ).
Pawel Katz is member of the Katz-Trio and Katz-Duo and participated in many chamber music master courses ( chamber music with Henry Meyer, Kim Kashkashian, Eberhard Feltz, Michael Vogler and Hans - Erik Deckert and as a soloist with Werner Scholz and Ulf Hoelscher ).
Since September 2006 Pawel Katz is 1st violinist in the Southwest Philharmonic Orchestra Konstanz (Germany).
